Below are some links to some clips of Hulk that have been released onto the world wide web. The one embedded here actually has a couple of my shots in it. I did the shots after Betty says "Bruce" where is is reacting to her (actually that is the shot that is the static image in the player prior to hitting the play button)... then the zoom (yay!)... then when he turns to look at the chopper and back. Nothing amazing.. but they were stil fun shots... Check out all the clips and go see the movie on June 13th!!!

Monday saw the passing of an amazing individual. I think this article best sums up how his passing should be viewed. I know he will be missed by many. But his inspiration and influence will live on.

I seriously cannot thank all you all enough for the compliments I receive on a daily or weekly basis about these iLost desktops I made. It started out as just a random fun project for myself, but then I thought that others might enjoy them as well. Apparently I was right. I get thousands of hits a month of people looking specifically for the iLost desktops.

One of the biggest requests I get (seriously... at least once a week) is for a Desmond desktop. Well... here it is.

I hope to get back into doing these occasionally, now that life is a bit more settled. (Though that may or may not last much longer) I am also more than happy for recommendations of a new series or style to take on when I have time, so feel free to email those my way.

This is a great video I saw a while back, but had forgotten about. Hayk passed it my way again this past week and I definitely thought it was worth sharing. The animation was done by Framestore CFC and I think they did an awesome job of keeping a very naturalistic feeling to the moments and actions of the fish while bringing out their personalities and performance. In the neverending cycle of bringing all my childhood cartoons and comics to life, the latest has reared it's head. But I have to say I am excited.. Well, as excited as you can be from a single still image of a character from the movie.

Behold Snake Eyes.... Unquestionably one of the coolest characters there from the wonderful world of G.I. Joe.

Based solely upon this image, it looks as if they are trying to keep the character fairly true to the cartoon. But, we all know that this doesn't mean anything. Regardless though, I am actually excited to see how they choose to bring the characters to life.... I mean, Destro? Come on... he has a huge metal freaking head! And Cobra Commander, the bad guy with the whiniest voice known to man? Junkyard Dog? Raptor? --- Well, Ok, Raptor was lame. But I mean, he carried around a bird, what else are you going to call him?

And just wait... so many more cartoons to follow. The Smurfs are coming back, as are the Thundercats. I am just waiting for someone to bring back the Snorks. That will be a glorious day.

Well, I thought there for a bit that I was going to be back in the habit of posting a lot. And while I still plan on that being the case (it's one of my New Year's resolution-majiggys), right now it may be on and off. For you see, I am currently working 12-14 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. So, while I still managed to have a few good days of blogging in there.... it may not be the norm for another month or so. -- But then again, that's part of my resolution. Blogging even when I am busy... so that this thing doesn't completely dry up.

Hrm.... so maybe if I constantly put up a post about how I am unable to post... that will cover everything. By gosh... I think I just figured this whole blogging thing out.

Across the Universe

I saw "Across the Universe" a little while back, and I really enjoyed it. As both a huge fan of the Beatles and a big fan of musicals... and of course, Julie Taymor, I was not disappointed. Some Beatles songs that I really enjoy were not included, and some of the arrangements weren't my favorites. But I still feel they did an amazing job of using the songs to tell a story loaded with lots of visually entertaining vignettes. Below are a few of the songs I partictularly enjoyed. Leterrier talks "Hulk"

Louis Leterrier, the director of "The Incredible Hulk", gave some time to Empire Magazine to talk about the trailer that was recently released. (If you've missed it, look a few posts back and you will find it.)

It's a fun read and gives you a bit more info as to where he is coming from, why the teaser was released later, how the Bruce Banner character is driven in this movie, etc... If you are interested it's a fun read and can be found here.

Due to being in crunch time at work, I pretty much take every moment away from work to play with my little clone and sleep..... Taking Pride and Ownership in the Beard

Well, since I often have the beard these days, and because I work with a bunch of nuts.... I have started participating in a bit o' random fun. My coworker Ryan Bradley mentioned that he was part of a group that has delcared January and February as "Bearduary". It is a time to celebrate the beard and mustache...

But it isn't just about growing the beard, but trying out different styles. So as of now I have a pretty standard beard, if a bit on the rough and longer side. But I plan on trying out some different styles to do Bearduary justice... so, check back to see what comes of it.

So here is a clip from "Alvin" that I found on AOL Video. One of my shots is in here, but it's cut off.... I animated the shot at the end of this clip, where Simon is saying "Filthy creatures Dave, never associate with them." It is followed by Theodore saying "Yeah, you're our only friend!" -- But in this compilation, it cuts Theo off after "Yeah". Kinda neat seeing some of my work making its way out into the world. Be sure to go check it out and let me know your thoughts.... I can already tell you, I think it's cute. And I know the kids are going to love it.

Along for the Ride

Life has been a whirlwind this year. From jetting out to Los Angeles in May, along with selling the house and packing up. To animating on "Alvin" and getting settled out here. But as overwhelming and hectic as it has been, it's been a blast. I am happy to say it looks as if I will be staying here in LA at least through May '08.

I have been asked to come back to R+H to animate on "The Incredible Hulk". And as an fiend on the comic book universe, especially in my childhood (I think I killed 40,000 trees with the amount of comics I had... and it was worth it), this is quite honestly a dream come true. I am excited to see how the show rolls along.

The Brink of Insanity

You know you are teetering on the edge of insanity when you know start observing randomness such as...

It takes me 141 steps, plus 42 stairs, to get from my parking space to my condo door.

Why do I need to know that? -- I don't. I guess I just found it fascinating to know what it takes to get home once I have parked. Especially since in the past I have had usually about a 10-15 step walk in from wherever I have parked.

Now bear in mind, I am not complaining. I am not lazy... well, maybe I am lazy in some ways, but I am not bothered by the walk. In fact I enjoy getting out of my car in the afternoons (or evenings now) and walking in through the complex. It relaxes me knowing that I am about to enter the "fun" zone.

I just don't understand why I was compelled to actually count out the walk today....

Sigh.
